A tiring day

Today's been a very tiring day....

I slept at around 2 o clock this morning....got up by around 8:30 am...had to take a pretty quick bath and then rush to the colege pantry to have the usual dose of bread jam and a big cup of Boost (definitely not the secret behind my low energy levels!!)...

Had Java classes in the morning from 9 to 12 noon....Fortunately, Mr. Shakeel taught us the language in a very innovative way....and I do not usually sleep during his lectures.

Then went back to the room and played a quick game of Tux racer on Linux...headed off to the canteeen for Lunch...the usual chapatthi, fried rice, side dish combo...general lacha with friends on some topic....

KP had told Vivek, my roommate, that the C test was scheduled to be held on Monday...KP hadn't passed on the info to the girls...but Vivek had broadcasted this to the girls hostel...but Vivek was adamantly denying that he sent any message at all..

After lunch, head off to the classroom for Prof. Prasanna' lecture on Algorithms...
Prof. is brilliant, but he discusses things at such a high level that it takes time for us to comprehend what he is actually talking about!! try to doze halfway through the lecture, but the camera is watching and taking snaps of those who are sleeping...
I wake up and decide not to sleep again for the whole hour....

the hour finally concludes at around 3:30...this is followed by a Database session for another 3 hours...the class goes on for around 2 hours...and then the heads all start drooping sideways...prof realises that we' re all asleep...decides to take class on some other day...

goto the common room to catch up with some cricket action....but indian procession continues even in Malaysia...India seems to mess up everytime against Australia ...

get back to the room, get ready for dinner and then head back to the lab for the assignment demo...still waiting for around 2 hours for my turn...it's already tomorrow and i still dont know when the day will end !!!

Freshers Party

The freshers party for our batch took place yesterday....was supposed to start in the evening at around 5:30 pm....but i guess you know IST...the party finally started at 7 pm....
After the invocation, there was a dance by Aditya to the music of 'Dus Bahane'...he had a muscular frame...so he could flex his muscles any way...but the dance was good to watch....Post the dance, a senior called Tarun came to play the guitar....
seniors all around started howling...they had already started shouting slogans like "Please remove the interference...."
"Abey...juniors ko be mauka do yaar..."
it was a hilarious scene..

After the howling and the hootings, it was the turn of the juniors to perform...they played the song "Papa Kehte hain" on the guitar...and had the crowd singing along with them....

and the piece which the seniors had been waiting for...there's a girl in our batch who thinks she dances well...the organisers thought that they 'd give her an opportunity...

She decided to dance to the 'Dole Baaje' song...as the song went along, we found that she had been going round and round in circles and all along she 'd never danced...i was pretty relieved that the song got over pretty soon....

We had a scrumptuous meal after the party...but I still miss home food though...

After dinner, the dance floor was open to everyone...guys were present...but the girls slowly started to trickle in one by one...and then the guys also joined....

the party went on till 12...

overall, a memorable one

General jottings

"You have busier times ahead"....was the warning...busy or overload or overburden...no one knows...but I believe that this is the sort of work that keeps one occupied every moment.

The hostel's wireless access sucks...somehow doesn't work in the morning, but works late in the evening and through the night...hmmm, maybe it's getting used to our routine..

Have attended most classes on time so far this sem....but had a bad time concentrating in the class...

If attendance was based on not sleeping in class, I guess 90% of the class would have lost it most of the time..

Had food outside the hostel after a week's time (Phew!!)...

Have booked my Deepavali tickets now itself....very few tickets were leftover when i booked around 2 weeks back...
