Mid-term exams @ College

This incident happened during my first year at college.....the mid-term exams were about to start and the seating arrangements for the exams had just been announced.
Exams....i really hated them. But, i was in for a pleasant surprise!!!

I belonged to 'D' batch in the first year at college....and as per the seating arrangement, we were supposed to sit with another batch of students....and sight-seeing was a pain with this batch....except for one or two people... you know what i mean!!

And then on the day of the first exam...Lady Luck had answered prayers that I hadn't asked for....
nay, I didn't ask for a tough question paper...but (let's call her 'X') 'X' came and sat near me...I gave her a big wide smile and almost brought my handkerchief to my mouth....she smiled back....

I happened to be seated on the first bench...i turned around to see all my classmates and woooow...boy ,were their stomachs on fire!!!!

Though 'X' seemed to sit near me, my performance in the exams never seemed to improve, though....then came the turning point...

Before the start of the Physics exam, we just had a little casual chat...
she asked me what my favorite subject was...and i said Electronics...and then she said..."I am not really good in that subject"...

I wanted to blurt "I can help you out in that subject"...but then, she said "I wish I could do well in that exam"....I got a feeling that she didn't like the subject that much.....So I decided that I could at least help her in some way...
Physics exam had got over and Chemistry was up next and Electonics was about 3 days away...D' Oh! but who bothered....

I took up the Electronics book and started reading....MOSFET, JFET, BJT's....I would write an essay even if someone asked about it in my sleep....

D'day came and well, the question and answer papers had been distributed and I started writing like mad and placed my Electronics answer papers on one side. She seemed to be in oblivion....I wondered what was stopping her...She hadn't written much on her answer sheet and that was bothering me...
She didn't look at my answer papers, though I had put in so much preparation....

Finally after the exams got over I ran after her and asked here "Why didn't you look at my answers...I told you Electronics was my favorite subject"...she asked "Did you actually say that?...I'm sorry, I forgot about that....Lets see the next exam"...Aww...ED was the next exam and I was absolutely scared of ED...

I felt like all my preparations had gone waste.....well, I did get the highest mark in Electronics....but it was of no use to me!!!
